“…like beauty, my friend, ‘tis in the eye of the beholder”

One can choose to find beauty in everything. You can decide to train your mind to appreciate everyone's beauty. Or, you can chose to see the ugly in everyone and everything, which is what most people tend to resource to. “…like beauty, my friend, ‘tis in the eye of the beholder” is quote that emphasizes how beauty is in the hands of the person that sees. People have different mindsets and opinions, generating various definitions of beauty. In the play Man of La Mancha, beauty is constantly objectified. For example, Don Quixote views Aldonza as the most beautiful and prestigious woman to set foot on Earth. On the contrary, Sancho does not see any beauty in Aldonza, that Quixote views. Similarly, the Muleteers also do not see the beauty of Aldonza that Quixote sees, and actually view her as an immoral woman that they can take advantage of. People in our society have enlarged leadership into something greater than us. Drew Dudley's ideology of leadership is that we've made leadership about changing the world, rather than simply guiding others; as a result, we treat it as something that one day we're going to deserve. Seeing yourself accomplish something might lead you to feel arrogance, a feeling one may not be comfortable with; this causes people to constantly undermine their own achievements. Instead of devaluing the things we can do daily, we must allow ourselves to take credit for all roles of leadership, no matter how large or minute.
